Here at SLKCS, we believe faith is a lifestyle and not simply a series of good values and stories. This leads us to integrate our faith into every aspect of our day.
We view Bible as an integral part of our program. It is not an add-on or filler, but gets the same time and attention as other core subjects like science and social studies. Students receive regular bible teaching from K-12. (Click the button above to learn more)
Every week our students and staff gather for worship, prayer and teaching. We encourage all staff and students to explore their gifts and offer opportunities to lead in music and teaching. Parents are invited to join us for weekly chapel as we dive into God's word and give Him praise. We are extremely proud of our music program and the worship opportunities we offer every student at SLKCS! (Click the button above to learn more)
We believe life with Christ is missional and purpose-filled, therefore we offer many opportunities for students of all ages to serve locally and abroad. Every other year a team of students join with students from other Koinonia schools for a missions trip abroad. We also support local ministries and provide opportunities for our students to serve in their community. Some recent service projects we have partnered with include whole-school outreach to seniors, hospital visitations, peer-mentorship opportunities through student council, Christmas shoe box drives and supporting local missionaries. Everything in life is different with Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Honoring Him in our school and leading young people to live a life that is purpose-driven is important to us. From how we conduct our janitorial duties to how we counsel students needing discipline; from board policy discussions to student playground behavior.... everything is different because of God's presence. We also encourage all of our students to become leaders in the areas they are gifted. We have many opportunities for students to learn to use their gifts to bless others and serve God.
